Aliens have landed, humanity’s memory has been wiped, and your neighbor is the president of New Japan!
JAST USA and Peach Princess are happy to announce the licensing and 2011 release of an adult PC dating sim game that’s been a hot topic among fans for the past year, ALcot’s Osananajimi wa Daitouryou — My Girlfriend is the President.
You play as Hondou Junichirou, the young man whose childhood friend Yukino has been deputized as the President of New Japan following the aliens’ crash-landing and subsequent brainwashing of society. You alone recall what the world was like before this crazy situation occurred, and when Yukino appoints you as her vice president you determine that it’s your duty to somehow restore order to the world.
This will be no easy task. On the way, you’ll encounter the humanoid embodiment of the alien starship that caused this commotion in the first place, the newly appointed president of Russia (another cute bishoujo), and your other neighbor and “older sister” figure who becomes the chief of staff in Yukino’s administration.
An alien agent, a Russian maid and another humanoid UFO round out the cast of this madcap SF romantic comedy. Will you be able to balance your school life with your new-found responsibilities as vice president, your budding romantic interests and your quest to restore normality to a world where pretty girls reign as political figureheads?
Find out next year, when Peach Princess and ALcot bring you the official English release of My Girlfriend Is The President!
A teaser site for the game is online now, where you can watch the English-dubbed trailer for the game and we’ll be adding more content soon. You can preorder the game now at J-List and JAST USA as well. Stay tuned for more Presidential news in the new year!

Oh great, now they’re going remove the rori CGs and alter the original text.
>>Nanashi
Thanks for your comment!
We’ve reviewed the game content and don’t anticipate any changes will be necessary as part of the localization; we’ll be sure to announce it here if anything is changed prior to release.
For an example of how we are committed to treating potentially sensitive releases following Family Project, see this post regarding the (lack of) changes made to Cat Girl Alliance:
http://www.jastusa.com/cat-girl-alliance-localization-notes
We’re happy to address any of your questions about this or any of our other releases via email or our help desk.
Please don’t remove -kun,-chan and other sufixes from the texts and don’t translate certain words(for example onigiri to riceball) u.u
Remove loli CGs??????
Piece of shit is yours ¬¬
Does this mean we’re going to have to wait years for a translation when we would have had to wait a couple weeks for the official one to come out? Because if so I’m boycotting the shit out of this company.
Great news!!
I´ve been wanting to play this title since I first saw the trailer for the original release. From what I´ve seen this is a solid title and should sell well.
I do hope that you will keep as much as possible without doing any changes. With this first comment being answered it is looking good but we will have to see what the future brings.
Yagami: Why should they not translate onigiri to riceball? Not all people know what onigiri means and having it placed in a sentance would be weird. Unless it is some kind of profound joke or is used in a good way.
But having a sentance like “here, have a onigiri” is not good in any way.
>>Yagami
We treat the use of honorifics on a case by case basis, and I don’t have word on whether we’ll be leaving them intact for this title or not yet. We do try to make the translations relatively approachable to those unfamiliar with Japanese, so words like those you mentioned (onigiri) will likely be translated.
We don’t have any plans at this time to remove or alter any of the game CG.

We’ll be able to provide a more accurate timetable for the release next month, but all signs point to a smooth localization process and a relatively quick release (for us). We agree that there’s no point in sitting on this and we are pushing ahead with ALcot as assertively as possible to pull the assets together and prepare a quality finished product.
>>manga
Thanks for your support! We’re not anticipating the need to change anything about the game beyond the standard localization procedures (such as those seen in Cat Girl Alliance) at this time. Hopefully the more thorough rundown of our editorial decisions as we near release will help put your concerns to rest.
“God bless Jast, what would we do without them? They somehow managed to even become more useless than they were before. Now instead of getting poor translations of shitty games nobody cares about, they’re telling us to give them money for them stealing charitable work, delaying it for a year or two, and having to deal with all of their bullshit.
Nothing like stealing charity and turning a profit on it. Next time the Red Cross goes to a devastated land, they should say “Hey, you’re starving to death. Yeah we have food. It’s right here, it was donated by others to feed you. But hey, how about instead of giving you this food right now, you give us fifty dollars, and we’ll give you the food in a couple of months?”"
This was taken from a post online. I did not write this, but I whole heartedly agree. So, what now? Going to take pre-orders now, rack up the big bucks, and never release just like with Demonbane? If JAST sincerely cared about putting out visual novels for non Japanese reading individuals, the VNs would actually be distributed within a reasonable amount of time. So… assuming this game EVER reaches the public (let us be realistic, 2015 at the earliest?), will there even be a physical copy? Or just a downloadable version? Even if I do get a response to this, it will be a completely insincere paragraph or two about how you are sorry for the delay in releases, not your fault, etc. but that this particular visual novel will indeed be released in 2011. And guess what? There are only a very select few who will fall for that crap. But go ahead, keep bringing in massive amounts of money from people who are dumb enough to not understand they will never receive a product.
Have fun being a heartless, money-grubbing, useless company.
eff you JAST and TL Wiki sellout fags
good to see another good eroge getting licensed in the west.
@Nanashi
There is no loli content in the game. Don’t be stupid. None of the girls look that young anyway, so I don’t see why they’d censor any of them unless they were stated underage at some point.
>>Kay
I understand your frustration, and that nothing we can say will change your position short of actually releasing the product in a reasonable time frame. Even then there will be detractors. We feel, however, that doing our best to bring these products to English-speaking audiences in an official capacity is a Good Thing despite the occasional snags in the production process.
Please note that we do not charge preorder customers in advance of game releases. We haven’t received a single customer dollar for Demonbane, and we won’t until it’s shipped.
On that note, we’ll have more information on the Demonbane release available later today that we hope will allay some of the worst fears in that department.
We’re committed to honoring the spirit in which TLwiki agreed to license their translation for President to us and see it shepherded through an official release. We won’t let them, or you, down.
ah, at least let me know the date it ‘ll be released.
Um… A JAST release is way better than a TLWiki one because you don’t have to import the full J-release this way. Unless you were planning on pirating the J-release to use that “chartiable” translation?
Since TLWiki were done with the translation and nearly done with quality check, are you going to take all of that or you’re going to start from the begining and redo everything?
I’ll just download the Japanese iso and wait for a hacked patch. Go fuck yourselves JAST.
Kind of disappointed that it will come in a simple DVD case. I was hoping to get the box the Japanese version has but translated in English. Since this will be the first eroge that I will receive physically rather than digitally. It’s a small detail, but every bit counts for me. Also, what is the difference between the Japanese version and the English version? Besides the translation, and the uncensorship? The only difference I see is the box. I don’t buy eroge very often so I wouldn’t know. I love boxes by the way.
Besides the price as well.
Considering the climate JAST seems to be weathering right now, I can only hope this game goes through official channels much faster than Demonbane has been doing. I’m one of the ones looking forward to seeing progress on that game, and have been since last year. Unfortunately, due to medical issues (and lack of work recently), I’m unable and unwilling to put money down on something which has been…. so far….. nothing but ‘vaporware’.
Well, I already played this game in english.
I imported the game from japan and downloaded a fan translation patch from a wiki website devoted to this game.
If this is the same group that made the patch I’m glad that they are getting paid for it now, although I have no more interest in the game having played it yet.
If Jast removes content, then even less so.
If the issue was “pirating”, there is no reason that the same thing could not be done with an official release. That is not the problem. Thanks for playing, though.
great… now i have to buy another damn copy…….
bleh…..
oh well, hopefully this will get done eventually, and at least more people will be able to play this legally, without having to do a ton of research on the characters ages before hand to stay legal.
As a side question, are you using the translation from tl wiki and improving it or are you starting from scratch, because thats going to be ages…
1)I dont think there is a need to translate some words, since you can just add a readme with their translation.
Besides, most people buying a vn are already familiar with general words.
2)I hope you will keep the original voices, dubbing a vn is just plain twisted.
>>RedKing
We’ve licensed the TLwiki translation from them and we’ll be using that as the basis for our release. We’ll check it thoroughly, of course, primarily as a quality assurance pass, but I anticipate it will see release largely unchanged.
>>WAFFLES
Other than the packaging type, the uncensored graphics, and the translation of the Japanese text into English, we don’t anticipate any changes to be made between the Japanese version and our release.
We’re experimenting with more elaborate packaging with Demonbane, which if it works well we may extend to other titles. Packaging similar to that used by Japanese first lot releases is impractical due to the sheer amount of space they occupy, unfortunately.
The price, as you mention, is less than half that of the original Japanese release.
>>zid
If you’ve already purchased a copy of the Japanese release of President in anticipation of the TLwiki release, contact us at pr@jastusa.com and we may be able to arrange something so you won’t have to pay for it twice.
>>Saider
English voice dubs of the game are one thing you won’t have to worry about.
Nice nice nice. Allow me to troll a bit in your favor JAST/TLWiki.
Listen, maggots! Demonbane is being held up by Nitro+ so that they can watch the 外人 squirm! JAST is in no way at fault here, and it would be faggotry to assume that an ALCOT/JAST/TLWiki collaboration would have the same issues as a Nitro+/JAST/TLWiki collaboration when Nitro+ is the one at fault. And stop bitching about the censorship… if you’re pissed off about your inability to fap to kiddies, then either the uncensored HCG’s in other scenes will counterbalance that or you’re a damn purist pedo, in which case you can screw off.
A licensed product is so much better than a) piracy and b) overpriced Japanese crap. I’m very pleased by this news. I also vote that honorifics should be dropped entirely, all words be translated rather than transliterated, and all 4chan posters be arrested as conspirators for WikiLeaks as blackmailing saboteurs and/or treasonous swine. Maybe we’d get some better eroge if eroge fans decided to graduate from weeaboohood.
I just want to ask a few questions…
1.) Will you guys using the patch that the guys in TLwiki (Seriously, I frowned because its already near completion then you guys… ugh… I’m not angry dammit! Disappointed, yes. But not angry…) were developing?
2.) If you guys do use that said patch, will you edit the scripts that the translators did or just leave it as it should?
3.) Will this game be uncensored?
4.) Estimated time before it’s release?
Anyways, You guys picked a great VN to be localized… Good Luck and God Bless…
~Keith ‘Azure Grimoire’ Kurogane~
Oh I forgot, Are you guys planning to localize Steins;Gate and Chaos;Head?
Thanks for the answer.
I hope honorifics will stay, since they can reflect things like relations, mood and much more.
it’s also best to keep translation as close to original as possible.
>>Keith Kurogane
Thanks for your questions! Answers below:
1. We licensed the TLwiki translation from them and will be using that as the basis for our release.
2. We don’t anticipate the need for extensive edits to their translation. We’ll run quality control passes and may edit a bit for style to be consistent with our other releases, but the TLwiki translation should make it into the game largely untouched.
3. Yes!
4. We’ll be able to provide a more precise time frame soon. We’re pushing this project quite aggressively with the Japanese maker, and on our side planning around the release happening in the first part of this year, so all the variables under our control are oriented toward getting it out as fast as possible.
5. Regarding Steins;Gate and Chaos;Head, we’re currently focused completely on Demonbane in our dealings with Nitroplus. Once it’s released we’ll be able to assess working with them on other future titles.
Great, another good title in bad hands. I hope you guys @tlwiki and JAST get lots of cash and stuff. I’ll be playing the japanese version tho, I like my games as they were made, not destroyed by censorship.
“Once [Demonbane is] released we’ll be able to assess working with [Nitroplus] on other future titles.”
I see what you did there. Yes, that is a nice verb, “assess”. And I agree, Nitroplus is boning your reputation hard on this one. If the alternative to Nitroplus games is solid eroge like Osadai, then you won’t hear me complaining any time soon.
Go to hell JAST, all your previous games sucked and now you take the project which translation was planned to be released as free. i waited long enough and now when QC was at 88% and patch before releasing you licensed it… So I have to wait again for your crappy release.Good i got translation already because I wont buy anything from JAST.
I like the sincerity you are showing Shingo, however there are things that are necessary to know in order to qualm a little bit of the rage people have here.
I don’t doubt your ability to complete the project, I doubt your ability to keep your word about its content.
I have one question though.
1. Will TLWiki recieve credit for the translation? They have, after all, translated the entire game and were planning to release a patch before your licensing. As far as I can see, the only thing you’ll be actually doing is checking over their translation for mistakes. Will they recieve some kind of credit? It really only has to be 1 line in the game itself that acknowledges their efforts.
Other than that, I see this as pretty much ok and happy that you are releasing an official version.
Providing the game actually does get released in a reasonable span of time, I’m quite satisfied with this outcome. The point of fan translations is to compensate for the lack of commercial ones if the game can be commercially licensed that is good.
That being said I would like to mention to JAST that your timing definitely could have been better. Picking up the translation as a commercial release in the eleventh hour isn’t a good idea.
1) It makes people irritated and upset since they were expecting the patch in the near future and this just seems like a delay.
2) Right before the patch release is when people start importing the game(those who don’t pirate it that is). These people will have paid a good deal of money for the original game so that they can use the patch and aren’t going to be pleased to shell out 40 or 50 bucks on top of that.
Well that’s my input anyways.
I look forward to the uncensored censored version.
I look forward to you guys telling me they are over 18 which is clearly bull shit.
I look forward to you guys advertising it as “the best eroge ever made” like what you did with Family Project and Sasagara family. Both being horrible games and false advertisement. Oh and a 2014 release. Wait I forgot you guys also claiming its a dating sim and hentai game. Instead of using Visual novel or Eroge so you don’t offend anyone.
Seriously … Next thing you guys do would be telling me some shitty jrpg is good..oh wait nvm!
Are you paying the guys at Tlwiki for their work?
>>solopy567
We’re working with the TLwiki members to make sure they’re credited exactly as they’d like to be, whether as a unit, according to individual handles, or real names. Where the credit will appear will depend on how we’re able to edit the end-game credits, but we’re committed to representing the effort they put in to bringing this title to completion.
>>Arteas
I agree that the timing could have been better. We went ahead with negotiations with lightning speed once the channel of communication was open with ALcot, so I can say that given the timing of the start of our relationship with them we couldn’t have reached and announced the deal any faster than we did, but it’s still unfortunate that it had to look like such a bait-and-switch.
One thing we are doing for those who have purchased the Japanese version in good faith is to provide them with a copy of the download version of the localized release free of charge. If you bought your copy from J-List it’ll be sent to you automatically; if you bought your copy somewhere else, you can contact us at pr@jastusa.com and we’ll arrange a verification method and then put you on the list for your copy. We don’t want anyone who bought the Japanese version legitimately to feel like they ended up on the short end of the stick.
>>Naeght
Yes. We contracted them for their translation service for this release and they’re being compensated for it according to terms both parties have agreed on.
cool well this is my first time here in a while and what do i find a nice bit of news. good luck with it and i hope to buy it soon.
for the haters well they’ll hate so let them hate. i never had a problem with jast other then the incurable music issue on some older titles but it seems to be a hp thing then jast’s fault.
i own a lot of games from them and an uncensored game is worth the wait with proffessional qc and editing. anybody can be a translator if they put the time and energy into learning or just so happen to be born native with it but it takes a hell of a lot more patients to qc and edit. while both will have errors because nothings perfect a proffessional ones will be better then a free cause more time and man power can be but into that then someone doing it in there spare time and editing/qc 10,000+ lines is time consuming and a real pain and sorry the professional do a better job.
good work jast keep it up.
