Saya no Uta Goes Golden Master

March 22nd, 2013
Announcements, Nitroplus USA, Roundup

We are happy to announce that Saya no Uta has officially gone Golden Master and will ship in a matter of weeks. As many of you know, this famous visual novel is the work of writer Urobuchi Gen, whose most recent works include the popular anime series Madoka Magica and Fate/Zero.

Saya no Uta tells the story of a young medical student who receives experimental brain surgery after a traumatic accident. He survives, but is left with warped senses that perceive the world as a hellish wasteland of pulsating flesh and twisted monsters. His salvation is a mysterious girl named Saya.

Saya is the only thing of beauty in this nightmarish new world. Their love changes them both in ways neither could have imagined.

Saya no Uta is currently printing, so this is your last chance to preorder for free shipping (US only) on this excellent game. International customers receive a 50% discount on shipping.

Saya no Uta is DRM-free and uncensored. Please see the release notes for more information.

Are there any plans to also sell this digitally? I live in Europe and shipping here would add a considerable amount to an already somewhat steep price.

Quick question: Do the games you release have the option to turn off the English subtitles and play them with the Japanese subs?

@Kuro, Dan K: There will be a download version. Details soon.

@other Makoto: No. J-List sells the Japanese versions of many eroge, including Saya.

When is the expected release date, as I can’t seem to find it, if it even posted. Also, will there be a limited edition with bonuses?

@Guy: We expect to ship the game by early May. There will not be a limited edition for this release.

Almost two years after I pre-ordered and it’s finally coming! And despite not being impressed with the Saya/Hanachirasu split and the extremely long delay between the announcement of Saya no Uta’s announcement and release, I *guess* I won’t be cancelling my pre-order since I love the game so much. I just hope that Saya no Uta sells well enough that Nitro+ will be more supportive of localizations of their games in the future.
