AI Use In Games Policy

After several days of intense deliberation we have decided to update our policy on AI usage in games.

Before a game is accepted onto the JAST Store, it will undergo the discerning scrutiny of our most critical, beret-adorned reviewers, who will meticulously examine the developer's artistic intent and their employment of AI. Our mission is to weed out games that have been haphazardly churned out by generative AI. Yes, we're looking at you, "AI-generated RPG dating-sim shovelware"—you're not fooling anyone.

Guidelines for Creators:

• Use AI to enhance, not to create.
• Employ AI as an editor, not the primary storyteller.
• Emphasize your own creativity over computer-generated content.

Why have a policy?

The answer is straightforward. We aim to rescue gamers from the abyss of uninspired, cookie-cutter games that afflict those other, less prestigious platforms. We intend to spotlight the true heroes—the dedicated artists and creators who invest their blood, sweat, and tears into their masterpieces.

Crafting this new policy took us almost no time at all, and we're feeling quite pleased with ourselves. We're here for our players and the amazing creators developing games for them, and we have no intention of stopping anytime soon. As technology evolves, expect us to continue learning and adjusting along the way.
