This is one of those rare genre-defining titles. The characters are unforgettable, the story is gripping, and the multiple endings shaped by player choices make for countless replays. The soundtrack is just so great, and and Takeshi Abo's main theme sets the perfect tone right from the start. I still remember booting up the game for the first time; that music hinted at the epic journey ahead. Huke's art also truly stands out, perfectly capturing the essence of character. Years later, revisiting the game evokes a mix of emotions, especially with the Akihabara references that now bring a touch of bittersweet nostalgia. But my love for this game will never change.
The game that got me to JAST. I've played the unofficial patch previously but had to buy it when it's officially released. This to me is the best visual novel I've played and the only one I've made multiple runs of. The way it starts as a slow, slice of life story and changes bit by bit as the story goes on is what makes it good for me. Most games, I just start following guides just to complete the story and see what the ending is but not in this game. I played different routes because I want to know and see what happens. Getting to the true ending was the best feeling.
